Keywords Everywhere


The software called Keywords Everywhere can be an integral part of an SEO strategy.

Keywords Everywhere is a browser addon that will get you FREE search volume, CPC & competition data for almost all the keyword research tools out there! You can install it for Chrome or Firefox. It shows you useful google keyword search volume, cost per click and competition data of keywords on multiple websites.

Once you install it and get your API key you can click the small icon in the upper right corner of your browser and click Update Settings to enter your key. You should new be able to see some data. The interesting thing about this is knowing what other related terms people are searching for. For example, are people searching for C# or C Sharp when they are researching this programming language?

Building a List of Keywords

In your SEO strategy, one of the first things you want to do is build up a list of keywords. There is a small star at the lower right of the screen shot above. Click it to add that to your list. Scroll to the bottom and add more favorites if you wish. Then you can go the the Keywords Everywhere icon in the upper left of your browser, click it and then click My favorite keyword for a report listing all of your favorite keywords.

These keywords can become effective blog articles. Pick the keywords with high traffic to increase your changes of getting visitors to your site.

Search Volume: This is the average number of times that people have searched for a specific keyword and its close variants every month. This is an average of the total searches for this keyword over the last 12 months.

CPC: The cost per click (CPC) is the amount that advertisers are paying for a single click for this keyword in Google adwords. It is an indicator of how valuable the top spots on Google search results are.

Competition: The competition is a gauge of the number of advertisers that are running ads on Google adwords for this specific keyword. The number goes from 0 to 1, with lower values signifying less number of advertisers and higher values signifying more advertisers.

The best strategy is to use “long tail” keywords. These are more specific and are actually phrases of about 4 or 5 words. Also, build up a list of these to use throughout your website.
